Graduiertenkolleg 793: Epidemiology of communicable and chronic non-communicable diseases and their interrelationships

The University of Heidelberg, together with the German Cancer Research Center and the Central Institute of Mental Health Mannheim offers 15 PH.D. SCHOLARSHIPS as of July, 1st, 2008 for 2 years with the possibility of an extension to 3 years in the framework of a specialized Ph.D. program.

The program has its focus on epidemiologic research projects involving scientists experienced in fields such as cancer, pharmacoepidemiology, tropical infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases and others. Formal courses and seminars covering advanced epidemiologic methods and special interest areas will form an integral part of the program. All graduates will be guided by a personal supervisor throughout the program. Unique benefits can be derived from this post-graduate program due to its interdisciplinary character. Graduates enrolled in the program will have access to the resources of the different participating institutions. Applicants should hold a Masters degree in a subject area related to epidemiology. For medical students without such a degree special conditions apply.
