Short-term fellowships for doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars in the field of history

The German Historical Institute in Washington awards short-term fellowships to German and American doctoral students as well as postdoctoral scholars in the fields of German history, the history of German-American relations, the history of the role of Germany and the USA in international relations, and American history.

The fellowships are usually granted for periods of one to six months. The monthly fellowship payment is 1,700 EUR for doctoral students and 2,950 EUR for postdoctoral scholars. The research projects must draw upon primary sources located in the United States.
