CfA doctoral scholarships at the Graduate Programme for Transcultural Studies (GPTS), Heidelberg University

The Graduate Programme for Transcultural Studies (GPTS) is a structured doctoral program within the interdisciplinary research environment of the Cluster of Excellence "Asia and Europe in a Global Context" at Heidelberg University. The GPTS welcomes applications for up to 8 doctoral scholarships.

The program’s institutional reference is the Karl Jaspers Centre (KJC), situated at Heidelberg University. The scholarships are available to both European and Asian students. Applicants must hold an M.A. or equivalent in a discipline of the humanities or social sciences with an above-average grade.

The GPTS combines the European model of highly individualized doctoral studies and a system of guided courses. Supervision is provided by mentors during a term of three academic years.

Duration: two years with an optional one-year extension
Amount: 1200 EUR/ month
Start: October 2014
