Nature Masterclasses is upgrading
The Nature Masterclasses Team has informed us that the Nature Masterclasses On-demand platform will be upgraded on 30 March. The new experience will offer a simpler login process, improved course search and a more user-friendly learning environment.
There is one important action you may need to take before the move to the new platform.
What you can do now
If you would like to receive a certificate for a course you are currently working on, please complete all modules before 29 March.
To view your current course progress, navigate to My page > My dashboard.
What happens to your learning progress
- Completed courses, including certificates, will transfer automatically.
- Courses that are in progress but not completed by 29 March will not transfer. Your progress will reset to the beginning on the new platform.
What to expect after the platform launch
When you first access the new platform, you will be asked to register again. Please use the same email address you used previously to ensure that your completed courses and certificates will be matched to your new account.
Your access to Nature Masterclasses will continue, and instructions on how to register and access our new platform will be available at launch.

New to Nature Masterclasses? Make the most of our subscription!
The Graduate Academy offers online courses developed by Nature Research. We have an institutional subscription to Nature Masterclasses. If you are a member of Heidelberg University, this subscription grants you access to all currently available online courses on the Nature Masterclasses platform.

Registration
- Through the Graduate Academy’s subscription, you have access to all Nature Masterclasses online courses.
- To start using a course, simply register on the Nature Masterclasses website
- Note, when you register for the first time, make sure you connect to Heidelberg University’s internet or wifi. Please make sure to use the multi-factor authentification via VPN-client. If you're off campus, please connect to the University’s campus internet remotely.
(After registration, you can use the course with any internet connection because the website will remember our institutional internet connection for 6 months).
