The German Research Foundation (DFG) is once again announcing the “Communicator Prize – Stifterverband Science Prize.” This prize is awarded to researchers or teams for outstanding achievements in science communication and comes with a cash prize of 50,000 euros. With this award, the DFG and the Stifterverband honor researchers from all disciplines for making their scientific work and their field accessible to a broad audience in particularly innovative, diverse, and effective ways, thereby promoting dialogue between science and society. Both self-nominations and nominations by others are accepted. | |||
The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities awards the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities Prize in the field of life sciences and medicine, endowed by the Monika Kutzner Foundation for the Promotion of Cancer Research, to recognise outstanding scientific achievements by young researchers. The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and may be awarded annually for outstanding achievements in the field of cancer research. The prize is aimed at scientists who, at an early stage in their careers, have already distinguished themselves through significant research contributions. The prize winners should be regarded as ‘young’ in relation to the achievements they have made. Self-nominations are not permitted. | |||
The Lem Prize is awarded annually to one young researcher whose creative work in science or engineering has potential for positive impact on the future of civilization increasingly filled with technology. The Prize is administered and financed by the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. The winner will receive a cash prize of PLN 100,000 (approximately EUR 23,000). The competition is open to young scientists up to 40 years old (born in 1986 or later), affiliated with an academic or research institution in a European Union member state, in an associated country participating in Horizon Europe, or in Switzerland. The Prize is awarded for a recent discovery or significant achievement made in the last 3 years in broadly understood fields of science and engineering, with strong elements of technology, interdisciplinarity, creativity and vision. | |||
The Baden-Württemberg Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry is once again announcing the Südwestmetall Prize to support early-career researchers at the nine state universities. The nine awards, each worth 5,000 EUR, recognize particularly outstanding dissertations that are significant for the industrial workforce and/or its sociopolitical context. With the Carl Zeiss Humboldt Research Award, the Humboldt Foundation honors an internationally recognized scientific personality from abroad and his or her body of work to date. The prize is awarded to researchers in the fields of mathematics, computer science and natural sciences who have established a cooperation with colleagues in Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Thuringia. The prize is endowed with 100,000 euros, supplemented by funds amounting to 50,000 euros for continued financing of the cooperation established. Nominations can be submitted throughout the year. This science prize honors leading international scientists from all disciplines from abroad for their overall work to date. The prize money amounts to 60,000 euros. Excellent researchers from abroad from all disciplines and all countries can be nominated for the Humboldt Research Award. The award winners are also invited to carry out research projects of their own choice in Germany in cooperation with specialist colleagues. An independent selection committee of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation decides on the nominations submitted twice a year in spring and fall. The review process takes approximately six months. |
