Newsletter HGGS Graduate Membership in the Summer Semester 2026 and CfP Summer Forum

The Heidelberg Graduate School for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HGGS) invites applications for Graduate Membership starting in the Summer Semester 2026. 

We are looking for motivated doctoral candidates at Heidelberg University, who are interested in the academic exchange with researchers and professors from other institutes and faculties.

Heidelberg University provides through the HGGS an interdisciplinary program and certificate in the Humanities, Law and Social Sciences, which offers valuable experiences in cross-disciplinary methodological expertise, an inter-faculty peer group of doctoral researchers, informal thesis advisory committees, science communication as well as international workshops and PhD-led conferences. The HGGS program complements and supports the regular doctoral disciplinary training at Heidelberg University and it is not time-consuming.

All interested doctoral candidates from the six participating faculties at Heidelberg University can apply for the non-stipendiary Graduate Membership!

Application deadline: April 1, 2026

Scholarship holders of the Begabtenförderungswerke (funding organizations for the promotion of young talent), the Landesgraduiertenförderung (LGF) and doctoral candidates who are already employees of an institute from the six participating faculties qualify for a Fast-Track application.
