Newsletter Scholarship (individual fellowship) for doctoral projects by the Landesgraduiertenförderung at the Kunsthistorisch

The Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden‑Württemberg provides a scholarship for doctoral projects in Art History from the Landesgraduiertenförderung Program. The fellowship is awarded by the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz – Max‑Planck‑Institute (KHI) in cooperation with the Heidelberg University.

Eligible projects are doctoral projects whose research focus is on the art history of Italy and the Mediterranean region from late antiquity to the modern era.

Eligibility to apply is restricted exclusively to candidates who have been admitted as doctoral researchers at a university in Baden‑Württemberg.

Deadline: September 30, 2026

The KHI in Florence sees itself as a forum for vibrant, international, and interdisciplinary scholarly exchange. With its renowned library, photo archive, and a full schedule of scholarly events, it offers excellent conditions for research. Participation in and contribution to the institute’s activities during the fellowship (at least for a part of its duration) is strongly encouraged.
