Newsletter Travel Allowances for research trips from the Young Researchers Fund of Heidelberg University

Are you planning a research stay in Germany or abroad between November 2026 and April 2027 and are you unable to cover the travel costs yourself? If so, you should apply for a travel grant from the Young Researchers Fund!

Travel expenses of up to € 1,500 can be reimbursed from the Young Researchers Fund. These can include transport costs for a return trip (train tickets, flights etc.) as well as local public transportation, accommodations without meals (hotel, private room rental etc.) and tuition fees.

The application takes place in three steps:

• Fill out and submit the online registration form
• Fill out the application form and send the application documents via email to the Graduate Academy
• Submission of a statement by your first supervisor (directly as a PDF document to the Graduate Academy)
