Join us for a walk through the Via Naturae in the serene woods near the Königsstuhl. Far from the daily demands of your desk, this excursion offers space to breathe, think, and engage in conversation with fellow doctoral candidates. It’s a chance to move through nature while reflecting on the path of your research - its challenges, direction, and place within the larger academic landscape.

Here we inform you about the fundamental principles and guidelines of the Graduate Academy as well as its organizational structure.The organizational divisions of the Graduate Academy comprise the Council for Graduate Studies and the team members of the Graduate Academy.
Support
The Graduate Academy Service Center can help you with most general questions about doctoral training. For questions regarding the academic requirements and formalities specific to your subject, you should contact the doctoral office of your faculty. In cases of conflict, doctoral candidates can contact the ombudspersons for confidential advice and mediation.
Käthe Leichter Forum
The Käthe Leichter Forum offers doctoral researchersand staff of Heidelberg University various seminar rooms and co-working spaces for reservation.
Käthe Leichter (1895–1942) is the eponym of the Center for Doctoral Researchers at Heidelberg University. The social scientist received her doctorate from Heidelberg University. As a pioneer of the modern women's movement she was involved in political resistance against the Nazi regime and became a victim of National Socialist
Funding
The Graduate Academy regularly offers funding lines of the heiDOCS 2.0 program and awards grants by the Landesgraduiertenförderung. Updates on call for applications are also published in our newsletter.
Academic Offer
The Graduate Academy offers workshops tailored to all stages of your doctoral studies and we have information about courses offered by other facilities at the university. Graduate schools and structured doctoral programs can also book courses with us that are specially customized for the needs of their doctoral candidates.
