Overview / Introduction

Statistics can be considered an independent discipline of mathematics, dealing with data collection and analysis as well as their interpretation and presentation. On the other hand, statistics can also be seen as a branch of mathematics, especially stochastics. Statistics represents the theoretical basis of all empirical research.
