Bergen Summer Research School 7 - 17 August 2008:
Global Poverty
The Bergen Summer Research School is primarily targeted for PhD students and junior faculty. The first edition of the Bergen Summer Research School is dedicated to the theme of Global Poverty. The courses and activities planned for 2008 reflect an effort to address it a truly global challenge, affecting advanced, developing and less developed economies.
The Summer Research School aims to produce an overall event that presents an inclusive yet well defined concept of ‘global poverty’, based on Norwegian and Scandinavian research traditions as well as internationally recognized research produced by all disciplines. We are committed to address poverty as a global challenge requiring disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and problem-oriented research-based education.
