LERU Doctoral Summer School 2018 “The Global Society - The Importance of Interdisciplinary Collaboration to Tackle Societal Challenges”

 

This year’s Doctoral Summer School of the “League of European Research Universities” (LERU) will take place at the KU Leuven in Leuven, Belgium from July 9 to 13, 2018. The summer school is aimed at doctoral students at an advanced stage of their training who are highly motivated to work in an international and interdisciplinary team. Detailed information about the program is available in the attachment.

 

As a member of LERU, Heidelberg University can send 1 or 2 doctoral students to the summer school. The Graduate Academy will select the final participants from the group of candidates recommended by their doctoral supervisors.

 

Supervisors and institutes should send their recommendations by email to the Graduate Academy (graduiertenakademie@zuv.uni-heidelberg.de) at the latest by March 12, 2018 with the following documents:

  • Letter of recommendation from the doctoral supervisor (in English)
  • Motivation letter and curriculum vitae from the doctoral student including a short description of the doctoral project. (in English)

 

The application should not be longer than 4 pages.

 

Participation in the summer school will be supported by the Graduate Academy with a travel grant (most likely covering the participation fee).
