haben Sie Ideen für ein eigenes Unternehmen oder ein Start-Up? Oder sind Sie dabei, Ihre Karriere zu planen? In unseren Kursen zum Thema Existenzgründung und Karriereplanung erfahren Sie mehr über wichtige Schritte auf dem Weg zu Ihrem Erfolg. Außerdem bieten wir Ihnen im März eine Einführung zu Linux Shell, zum Schreiben für ein nicht-wissenschaftliches Publikum und zum Grundlagenwissen BWL an:
Ideen zur Existenzgründung // 14.–15.03.2023

Wer es als Doktorand:in gewohnt ist, Konzepte zu entwickeln, Aufgaben und Ziele zu definieren und zu verfolgen, für die sind Selbständigkeit, z. B. als Freiberufler:in, eine Option. Im Seminar werden wichtige Schritte auf dem Weg in die Selbständigkeit vorgestellt, sei es beim Start in eine Freiberuflichkeit, bei der Planung eines eigenen Unternehmens oder bei der Entwicklung eines Konzepts für ein Start-Up. Als Leitfaden dient im Workshop die Struktur eines Businessplans. Andere Tools wie das Canvass Model werden ebenfalls vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich sowohl an (allgemein) Interessierte, als auch an Gründer:innen, die schon erste Planungsschritte unternommen haben.

Career Development // 16.–17.03.2023 – Kurssprache Englisch

What comes after graduation or a doctorate? How to get the job you want – and which one is that? These are questions that graduates and doctoral students often ask themselves toward the end of their studies or doctorate. We work out which options are available and which career steps are important to get closer to the respective dream job.

Writing for a Non-Scientist Audience // 21.–22.03.2023 – Kurssprache Englisch

From blogging to news and opinion articles, writing remains one of the best ways for scientists to reach the public. While there are many styles and formats for popular science writing, certain elements of good writing are required. In this workshop, we discuss the various formats of writing as well as why and when each is used. We will also discuss how to tell a good story and common bad habits scientists have when writing for the public. Participants will practice writing short pieces based on their own work or interests that will be shared and discussed during the workshop.

Introduction to the Linux Shell // 23.03.2023 – Kurssprache Englisch

Besides being a viable and free alternative to Windows and MacOS operating systems, GNU/Linux powers the backend of modern digital life. For instance, the majority of all web-servers hosting your favorite websites run on GNU/Linux. Furthermore, high-performance computing clusters (HPCC) rely on this open-source operating system. The use of GNU/Linux will allow you to set up your own system, establish more efficient workflows and automate time-intensive tasks.
In this course, you will learn the basics of GNU/Linux and the principles of open-source software. You will apply the most common GNU/Linux Shell language BASH to run useful programs (such as AWK, VIM and GREP) and write your own scripts and pipelines. Additionally, you will become acquainted with SSH to connect to remote machines, e.g. clusters to run laborious tasks.

Für Fach- und Führungskräfte wird neben Fachwissen und sozialer Kompetenz betriebswirtschaftliches Wissen in Zukunft immer relevanter. Modernes, projektorientiertes Arbeiten erfordert zunehmend organisatorische, kaufmännische sowie personalbezogene Kenntnisse. Mit diesem Intensivseminar sollen Einblicke in die Kernbereiche der BWL gegeben und Grundlagen für betriebswirtschaftlich orientiertes Handeln erarbeitet werden.
