Call for Application: „Scholars in Residence 2013/2014“

The Goethe-Institut and the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) are pleased to announce the annual call for applications for the program “Scholars in Residence”. Scholars in Residence is a residency program that promotes the exchange of scholarly research and provides guest residencies for PhD students and Postdocs. The program welcomes applications from young academics from the fields of humanities, cultural, and social sciences.

Young scholars are given the opportunity to forge intensive relationships with other researchers, to pursue joint projects and to develop long-term bilateral collaborations within an international context. Within the focal subject matter, one academic from abroad and one German academic will form a duo team.

 

The Scholars in Residence research themes for 2013/2014 are:

Duration of residency: From six up to eight weeks. The residency dates are: The scholar from abroad will travel to Germany as of October 15, 2013, the German scholar will travel to his partner’s country as of January 1, 2014.

Funding: Travel expenses to the host country and accommodation are covered. Plus a daily allowance of € 350.00 per week.

 

Application

Applications can be submitted individually or together with an exchange partner (e.g. German applicant and overseas applicant).
