UniWiND-Jahrestagung - „Für moderne Promotionskultur(en)"

English version below

UniWiND - Annual Conference - "For Modern Doctoral Culture(s)"

Dear doctoral candidates,

The University Association for the Qualification of Young Academics in Germany (UniWiND) will hold its annual conference this year from 28 to 30 September 2021 under the motto "For modern doctoral culture(s)". Originally, the UniWiND conference "Für moderne Promotionskultur(en)" was already planned for last year as a face-to-face event in Hamburg, but had to be postponed due to the Corona pandemic. This year the conference will take place as an online event.

The digital event will be held in cooperation with the University of Hamburg and the Hamburg Research Academy (HRA). Registration is possible until 15 September and participation is generally free of charge for doctoral students.

Conceptually, it will draw on the content already planned for last year, but the conference will also address current developments that have taken place since then, such as the Federal Report on Young Academics (BuWiN) 2021, the latest results of the longitudinal study on doctoral researchers and doctoral graduates (Nacaps) and the impact of the Corona pandemic on the situation of doctoral researchers. How to create a good "doctoral culture" that offers the best possible qualification conditions for doctoral students and postdocs was the core question of the conference. The current #IchbinHanna debate on Twitter also shows how explosive the topic is.

Further information and the links for registration can be found here.

Best regards,

The team of the Graduate Academy
