Call for Application: „Scholars in Residence 2012/2013“

Scholars in Residence is a residency program that promotes the exchange of scholarly research and provides guest residencies for PhD students and Postdocs. The program welcomes applications from young academics from the countries of Egypt, Germany, Morocco, and Tunisia and from the fields of humanities, cultural, and social sciences.

The research themes for 2012/2013 are:

--Culture and Climate Change
-- Culture and Conflict/Memory Culture
--(Urban) Culture and Public Space
-- Migration and Integration
--Science, Culture and Digital Media / Intellectual Property

The duration of residency is from six up to eight weeks. The residency dates are: from mid-October-December 2012 - residency in Germany for foreign participants; from mid-January-March 2013 -residency in the host country for German participants.

Scholars in Residence is an exchange project of the Goethe-Institute as part of the German-Egyptian/Tunisian Transformation Partnership.
Based on the transformation processes underway in the region of North Africa/Middle East, the Goethe-Institute aims to encourage intercultural dialogue and cultural exchange in the scope of the transformation partnership and lastingly reinforce relations between Germany and Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco.
