5 doctoral fellowships in the research group (Promotionskolleg) “Critique of language as Critique of Society – a European Perspective”

The Europäisches Zentrum für Sprachwissenschaften (EZS), a joint cooperation between the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg
(Germany) and the Institut für Deutsche Sprache in Mannheim (Germany), invites applications for five PhD fellowships in the newly founded Promotionskolleg “Critique of language as Critique of Society – a European Perspective”.

The thematic focus of the Promotionskolleg is to compare historical and contemporary language politics, language policies, language institutions that include the German, English, Italian and French language areas and communities of practice. The doctoral fellowships will be located in the following specialty areas: German linguistics, English linguistics, Romance linguistics: Italian, Romance linguistics: French, English linguistics and Computational linguistics. The fellowships will begin at the earliest on November 1, 2012 and will be available for a period of three years.
