Mastering digital tools to build a successful science career //17.–18.01.2022
9:30–17 Uhr; 9:30–15 Uhr, Prof. Dr. Sören Auer

In this course, we will review the changes in scientific work due to digitization. In particular, we will focus on the following aspects:

  • Increasing the visibility of research results in the digital world
  • Open Access, Open Data and Open Knowledge
  • Semantic structuring of research data with ontologies and Semantic MediaWiki
  • Citizen Science with crowdsourcing using Wikipedia/Booksprints, OpenStreetmaps or Naturblick as examples
  • Data integration and analysis with OpenRefine
  • Professional and efficient organization of the preparation of research proposals with digital tools

Wie soll ich das nur durchstehen? – Die Arbeit an langen Aufsätzen und Büchern // 08.02.2022
11–16 Uhr, Prof. Dr. Martin Papenheim
Online

Der Workshop soll Ihnen helfen, eine längere Arbeit an einem Aufsatz oder einem Buch besser zu organisieren und erfolgreich zum Abschluss zu bringen. Dabei werden u.a. folgende Themen behandelt:

  • Spezifische Herausforderungen des wissenschaftlichen Schreibens.
  • Persönliche Voraussetzungen für eine lange Schreibphase.
  • Organisatorische Voraussetzungen für eine lange Schreibphase.
  • Pro und Contra eines langfristigen Arbeitsplans.
  • Vom Sport lernen: Etappen festlegen.
  • Die Notwendigkeit von Urlaub und Pausen

Research Data Management // February 9, 2022

This course is meant to give a general, discipline-independent introduction into various topics central to an efficient management of research data with a special focus on questions related to data archiving and data sharing. In particular, the course will cover the following topics:

  • Requirements on research data handling from universities, research funders and scientific journals
  • Short-term and long-term preservation: formats, metadata, documentation, standards
  • Open Research data, data publication and data citations: Where? How? Why and why not?
  • Creation of data management plans for research projects

Gemeinsam Stärken entdecken – Peer-Feedback for Development // 21.–22.02.2022
13–17 Uhr; 9–12:30 Uhr, Dr. Hartmut Unger

In diesem Kus beschäftigen wir uns mit der gemeinschaftlichen Identifikation von Stärken von Nachwuchswissenschaftler/innen zur Berufsorientierung. Die Teilnehmer/innen entdecken, wie sie sich selbst und gegenseitig helfen können, berufliche Orientierung zu finden. In peer groups und Einzelarbeit nehmen sie durch gestützte Interviews und Selbstreflektion ihre Werte, Stärken, Erfahrungen und Eigenschaften differenziert wahr. Situationsgerechte Impulse und Übungen vermitteln weitere Einblicke in Methoden der Selbstorientierung.
