Marie Curie Fellowships are European research grants available to researchers regardless of their nationality or field of research. The Marie Curie Actions aim to strengthen the human capital in research and technology in Europe, by stimulating people to take up the profession of a researcher, encouraging European researchers to stay in Europe, and attracting the best researchers from the entire world to Europe.

Three types of grants are offered:

  • IOF – International Outgoing Fellowships for Career Development
  • IIF – International Incoming Fellowship

The research topic will be freely chosen by the researchers in collaboration with the scientific supervisor of the host organization.

Researchers must have obtained a doctoral degree or have at least 4 years’ full-time equivalent research experience and must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of their organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior the call deadline.
