The Graduate Academy’s media room – Science communication for doctoral candidates
- The Graduate Academy’s media room is equipped for the production of high-quality audio and video.
- It can be booked free of charge by Heidelberg University doctoral candidates, faculty and staff for working on topics which are related to academic life, scholarship, and research.
- The eqipment can be used by up to four people at the same time.
How to book the room?
First time users will be asked to make an appointment with our staff to receive instructions on the use of the space and its equipment (contact information below). After that, room reservations can be made via our online booking system .
Please note that the room is not freely accessible, i.e. you need a staff member to open and lock the door for you.
Initial appointments and general inquiries
To make an initial appointment for instruction and technical assistance, please write an email to ga-edv@uni-heidelberg.de. Make sure to include a short description of your project (max. one page) as well as its intended duration.

Good to know
- Third-party liability insurance is no prerequisite for using the media room. However, we strongly recommend taking out third-party liability insurance in general. Liability insurance covers accidental or unintentional damage you might cause to another person or their property.
- The Graduate Academy cannot assume liability for personal property, personal injury, property damage or financial loss experienced by visitors to the Käthe Leichter Forum, including the media room.
- Smoking is prohibited in the entire Käthe Leichter Forum and the Graduate Academy, including the media room.
