Gremienwahlen der Universität Heidelberg

Liebe DoktorandInnen,
bei den bevorstehenden Gremienwahlen der Universität Heidelberg dürfen erstmalig auch eingeschriebene DoktorandInnen als neu etablierte Statusgruppe wählen. Sowohl im Senat als auch in den Fakultätsräten wird es VertreterInnen der DoktorandInnen geben. Die Wahl erfolgt ausschließlich als Briefwahl, die erforderlichen Unterlagen erhaltet Ihr von Amts wegen per Post.

Der Fakultätsrat bildet das wichtigste Gremium einer Fakultät und entscheidet u.a. über Fragen hinsichtlich von Studien-/Promotionsordnungen, Stellenbesetzungen und Mittelverteilung. Die Mitarbeit im Fakultätsrat bietet die einzig direkte Art, wie DoktorandInnen ihre Meinung gegenüber der Fakultät artikulieren können. Um für den Fakultätsrat zu kandidieren, muss ein Wahlvorschlag eingereicht werden.
Wahlvorschläge werden über das folgende Formular gemacht:

Wichtig:
Im Zuge der Wahl darf jede/r eingeschriebene DoktorandIn vier Stimmen vergeben. Eingeschriebene DoktorandInnen, die zugleich einen Arbeitsvertrag mit der Universität haben und mit zumindest 50% der regelmäßigen Arbeitszeit beschäftigt sind, können sich dazu entscheiden, in der Gruppe der DoktorandInnen zu wählen. Dies müssen sie bis zum Abschluss der Auslegungsfrist des Wählerverzeichnisses der Wahlleitung mitteilen (bis 30.04.2019), ansonsten erfolgt automatisch eine Zuteilung zur Statusgruppe der Akademischen MitarbeiterInnen.

Bewerbungsfrist verlängert - Ausschreibung "Internationales Symposium der Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung"
Liebe Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden,
bitte beachten Sie, dass die Bewerbungsfrist für die Ausschreibung "Internationales Symposium der Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung" verlängert wurde. Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Bewerbung bis zum 01.05.2019!
Zur Förderung exzellenter Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden der Universität Heidelberg vergibt die Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung Mittel für die Ausrichtung eines internationalen Winter-Symposiums (Winter School) durch Doktoranden/innen für Doktoranden/innen. Grundvoraussetzung für eine erfolgreiche Bewerbung ist, dass lebens-, natur-, geistes- oder sozialwissenschaftliche Themen gewählt werden, die einen engen inhaltlichen Bezug zu Gesellschaft, Kunst und Kultur im zeitgenössischen oder auch historischen Kontext der Stadt Heidelberg aufweisen und im Rahmen der Veranstaltung der interessierten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht werden.
Bewerbungen für die Fördergelder für eine Winter School 2019 können nun bis zum 01.05.2019 per E-Mail bei der Graduiertenakademie (graduiertenakademie@uni-heidelberg.de) mit Betreff „Internationales Symposium Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung“ eingereicht werden. Antworten auf Fragen dieser Art bietet unsere Veranstaltungsreihe „Welcome to Heidelberg!“ 2019, zu der die Graduiertenakademie der Universität Heidelberg Sie besonders zu Beginn Ihrer Promotion herzlich einladen möchte.

Senate/faculty council elections
Dear doctoral researchers,
We, the executive committee of the Doctoral Students Convention, would like to inform you about the upcoming senate/faculty council elections, in which doctoral researchers are allowed to participate for the first time.
Because of changes in the university state law (LHG) and the University?s Basic Statute (Grundordnung), representatives of the doctoral researchers will be allowed for four seats with voting power in the university senate, which is the highest decision-making body of the university and, among other things, responsible for academic decisions like doctoral degree and exam regulations, appointments, etc. Every enrolled doctoral researcher has four votes and can vote for candidates from previously submitted election nominations. Academic employees (employed with at least 50% of the regular working-time) have to choose if they want to be represented by the group of academic employees or the doctoral researchers before the end of the electorate register?s public display-term ? otherwise they will be automatically assigned to the group of academic employees. The deadline for this choice is 30 April. The election is conducted as postal voting only ? you will receive all necessary documents by post ex officio.

- 24 April - 30 April: the electoral register can be examined at the office of Sandra Ott (Seminarstr. 2 / Room 335).
- 6 June: end of term for postal votes! Letters must be received by the Electoral Commission by this day.

The same regulations and dates apply for the election of the faculty councils. According to each faculty, doctoral students can take up to three seats in the faculty councils (depending on the faculty). You can learn about the nomination and election regulations here:

Reception and Information Session for Doctoral Students - „Welcome to Heidelberg“
Dear Doctoral Candidates,
As you begin your doctoral studies at Heidelberg University you may have some important questions about financing your doctoral project, the differences between individual training and doctoral studies in a structured program or possible career options after completing your degree. In our series of “Welcome to Heidelberg!” orientation events, the Graduate Academy offers answers to these and many other questions and we warmly encourage all new doctoral students to attend one of these meetings in 2019.
As young researchers, you will receive information about the Graduate Academy, our advising services and career development programs and about funding opportunities. Other university facilities will also present their services for doctoral students and be available to answer your questions. During the reception, you will have the opportunity to talk about individual questions in small groups and to get to know other doctoral students.
Our next welcome event for doctoral candidates will take place on May 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Schmitthennerhaus, Heiliggeiststr.17, 69115 Heidelberg (location and directions).
